I started getting interested in tea when I was in college in the Boston area. I happened to graduate the year that a wonderful tea shop, Tealuxe, opened its doors in Harvard Square. It was then that I learned that tea was much more than the bags you found in the grocery store!

Over the years, my interest has grown into a borderline obsession. I love reading about tea, trying new types and sharing recommendations with friends.

To me, tea is more than something you drink to quench your thirst. It carries culture and ritual and comfort. When I'm having a down day, making a cup of tea can change my whole mood. It's not just drinking it that I love. It's the whole process of choosing what sounds good today, deciding what kind of cup or mug I want to use, and watching it brew. It can't be rushed so it makes me slow down and relax.

I think sometimes tea has a feeling to some of being stodgy or intimidating. I would love for everyone to feel like they can walk into a tea shop or other seller and ask questions, try new teas, and enjoy. Yep. Sometimes you'll hate what you try. But other times you'll fall in love. Really.

This site isn't intended to be a complete encyclopedia on tea. There are others far more knowledgeable and experienced who can offer that. This site is just my way of sharing a bit of what I know and helping to make tea feel accessible and interesting to more people.

Feel free to explore. If there's something you'd like to know more about, I'd love to hear from you. You can reach me at teapages@gmail.com. In the meantime, I'll keep putting on those random facts and bits of information that catch my interest! Also make sure to visit my blog at http://teapages.blogspot.com.
